World War III

August 31, 2010 - "World War III" World War III is a thought provoking look at an alternate ending of the Cold War. Compiled largely from TV news pictures and military videos from the period, World War III cleverly combines this footage in a convincing manner to give the illusion that what is depicted actually took place. A bit dated but still very much relevant. Click here

Changing flavor with Spices

August 31, 2010 - "Changing flavor with Spices" By Joseph Parish. Well folks it’s that time again when we do our inventory of emergency food supplies. We check all our dehydrated number 10 cans to make sure they are still in a serviceable condition and count how many of each we have stored up. We then take a close look at our normal canned foods to ensure that they are still in an edible way, no rusty or dented cans of any sort. Click here

A cow with how many teats

August 28, 2010 - "A cow with how many teats?" By Joseph Parish. I am truly amazed that Ms. Carson of OWL took such an offense to Alan Simpson’s letter. Granted he appeared a bit rough and crude with his format but it was meant only to be graphic and descriptive, which many of us often do. To ask for the man to resign his position is nothing short of ludicrous. Click here

The Solar Light Project Part A

August 27, 2010 - "The Solar Light Project Part A" By Joseph Parish. A recent evening of conversation over a few cups of coffee with several like minded survivalists prompt me to attempt to devise an economical solar charging system. My goals in this project are to decrease my current electric bill by employing an alternative means of providing necessary lighting for my home. Click here

Is There Any Value in Camouflaging your BOV

August 25, 2010 - "Is There Any Value in Camouflaging your BOV" By Joseph Parish. This very question which I ask will by itself bring to mind images linked to military jeeps, aircraft or camouflaged netting. Generally the common man comprehends very little about the use of camouflage and how to create an effectively hidden location. Click here

A Different Approach to Bug out Bags

August 24, 2010 - "A Different Approach to Bug out Bags" By Joseph Parish. We all appreciate the requirement and the value of a suitably equipped bug out bag and most of us if we have not previously done so, want to put some form of bug out bag together. Naturally, such an undertaking can frequently be very bewildering as we reflect upon where to start at. Click here

Attack of the Deer

August 18, 2010 - "Attack of the Deer" By Joseph Parish. In our neck of the woods it isn’t unusual to be causally driving along the road and all of a sudden you find that a deer will scurry across the highway in front of you. Or perhaps you will be maneuvering through a wooded back road and observe a deer positioned on the side of the thoroughfare. Click here

Power from the Air

August 18, 2010 - "Power from the Air" By Joseph Parish. There is a thin line between someone who may be deemed crazy and one who is heralded as a genius. Such is the case in this short but true anecdote involving radio signals. It seems that in 1912 the originator of wireless radio, Mr. Guglielmo Marconi offered a prediction that at some potential date wireless would actually be able to impart lighting for the home, heat for warming it up and power to run its applications. The Bed Bug Invasion of 2010

August 17, 2010 - "The Bed Bug Invasion of 2010" By Joseph Parish. We all need to lighten up every now and then so here is some short fiction that I wrote. In view of the Bed Bug invasion around the country I have taken the liberty of creating this humorous tale of a cleverly planed invasion by these insects. I hope you read and view this tale in the spirit that it was created and enjoy the story. Click here
