Surviving Economic Collapse

September 30, 2010 - "Surviving Economic Collapse" By Joseph Parish. As preppers or survivalists we frequently consider preparations as something intended for when the world has finally pushed those lethal buttons and nuclear bombs have departed for many of the world’s largest cities. We center our survival kits upon scenarios intended for total destruction with a hopeful overview of getting started fresh once again. Few people reflect upon their survival supplies with the implication of economic preparations to get us over the economies downside. Click here

Must have items should include Survival Seeds

September 30, 2010 - "Must have items should include Survival Seeds" By Joseph Parish. A survival seed package could make the difference between starving to death or surviving a major breakdown in our society. Having some kind of backup survival seed supply is a wise choice to make for no one not even us survivalists or preppers can tell what the future will bring regarding our commercial food and seed supplies. Collard Green Soup

September 29, 2010 - "Collard Green Soup" By Joseph Parish. One of my favorite categories of food is soup especially during the fall and winter season. Being a survivalist I strive to create soup from just about any foods which I maintain in my emergency food supply cupboard. Over the years I have made some very extraordinary but tasty meals by merely making good use of my available supplies. Click here

Survivalist Pepper Spray plan

September 28, 2010 - "Survivalist Pepper Spray plan" By Joseph Parish. Have you considered stocking some pepper spray in your emergency survival supply bags? Pepper spray has been used for decades now in the field of self defense primarily in the area of riot and crowd control, as well as for a defense against bears and vicious dogs. Its major ingredient is capsaicin which is the same content that provides the heat found in chili peppers. Pepper spray has been referred to by many names including OC spray which means Oleoresin Capsicum, capsicum spray or simply OC gas. Click here

Who’s playing the HAARP these days

September 28, 2010 - "Who’s playing the HAARP these days" By Joseph Parish. Have you been questioning all the strange weather that America has been encountering lately? Do you sense that last winter was acceptably cold? Did you realize they are having hurricane after hurricane in the tropics right now? These are undoubtedly some very strange weather effects and there may perchance be a reason for this entire unusual weather phenomenon. Click here

Alton Civil War Prison

September 27, 2010 - "Alton Civil War Prison" By Joseph Parish. Being a fan of history and in particular the Civil War era I would like to present this historical article. Positioned near the intersection of William and Broadway can be found the remnants of the Alton’s dark fleeting moment of glory. All that remains of Alton’s previous Civil War penal complex is a small state marker and a few leftover bricks derive from the cell blocks of Illinois first Penitentiary. Click here

The Survival Go Binder

September 27, 2010 - "The Survival Go Binder" By Joseph Parish. Okay, the moment has arrive when you hastily grab up your family members and pop them into the SUV or bug out vehicle to get abruptly out of town. This time its for real, it isn’t a practice exercise but the Real McCoy. Click here

The Child Spirit

September 26, 2010 - "The Child Spirit" By Joseph Parish. Here is a little short fiction I wrote to pass the time. The streets of Singapore were exceptionally silent as the hands of my watch revealed it was now two AM. The usual shops that are typically so active in the daytime were now long closed while the areas nighttime activities were also drawing to a close. One would only sporadically encounter another person on the street and the solitary movements noticed were a few abandoned cats sneaking around for discarded garbage, hoping for a morsel of fish or a small sliver of meat. Countering Unproductive Behavior of Survival Group Members

September 26, 2010 - "Countering Unproductive Behavior of Survival Group Members" By Joseph Parish. There are many dangerous and potentially disturbing situations that could crop up during any survival groups related setting. Teamwork means exactly as it say where everyone works together for the benefit of the project. Unfortunately, that would be true only if we lived in a perfect world and we all realize that is certainly not the case, so we are prone to discover various pitfalls as we deal with others. Reading between the lines

September 25, 2010 - "Reading between the lines" By Joseph Parish. The principles of survival may be based upon certain textbook rules but Mother Nature and America’s enemies don’t always cooperate and follow those same established rules as we learn in class. The major hurricane which is heading rapidly up the eastern seaboard may unrepentantly turn inwards and head directly towards our home and family. The foreign terrorist agents of destruction might unload their wrath upon a busy metropolis where we are about to partake in a summer vacation. What can we do in situations as these? Click here

Survival Food Dehydrating

September 25, 2010 - "Survival Food Dehydrating" By Joseph Parish. The art of drying food is one of the world’s oldest methods conceived to preserve food in times of plenty for moments of need. From ages long ago people have reliably used the sun, wind, or a smoking fire to remove water from various fruits, grains, herbs and meats. By its very definition, the concept of food dehydration is listed as the process of removing liquid from a food by the use of circulating hot air around it. Click here

Gypsy Rights

September 23, 2010 - "Gypsy Rights" By Joseph Parish. The scene between Germany and France bares a marked resemblance to the episodes which occurred prior to the World War II events of Adolph Hitler, as he began his ethnic cleansing of Germany. The Roma’s or as they are know worldwide by the name of Gypsies, have traditionally traveled from one nation to another requiring no passport what so ever. Click here

Expelled for a toy Gun

September 23, 2010 - "Expelled for a toy Gun" By Joseph Parish. Once again the lack of common sense has shown that wisdom of those in charge has been dropped by the wayside. I am speaking of the incident where an 8 year old child has been expelled for playfully taking a toy gun to school in his backpack. Click here

Delaware Hunter Safety Course

September 19, 2010 - "Delaware Hunter Safety Course" By Joseph Parish. My grandson and I have just concluded a three evening course on hunter safety administered by the state of Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife. I must be honest with you; the course was not only informative but interesting as well. I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the class and the diversity which it placed on the various aspects of hunting. The volunteer instructors were exceptionally knowledgeable and always prepared to elaborate on an issue if the class member failed to fully understand what was being covered. Click here

Your Choice Stun Guns or Tasers

September 18, 2010 - "Your Choice Stun Guns or Tasers" By Joseph Parish. No one wants to kill another human being even in the line of self defense unless they are psychologically unstable. Unfortunately, there are times when I foresee that this may be the only alternative. I would venture to say that even a hardened criminal has a bit of concern over the death of another person. As survivors and preppers we know that at some point in time we may have to defend ourselves, our family or protect our possessions. This puts us on the verge of possibly causing another’s untimely death. Click here

Do the Muslims dislike Moments of Silence?

September 17, 2010 - "Do the Muslims dislike Moments of Silence?" By Joseph Parish. It now appears that the Hartford Connecticut’s City Council’s decision to revoked its earlier offer to have a Muslim Imam recite a prayer at there scheduled meeting has been met with protest. The Hartford City Council previously had invited the imams to begin their programs with Muslim prays in an effort to show the cities commitment to the Muslim community. Click here

Does your child care center have a disaster plan?

September 16, 2010 - "Does your child care center have a disaster plan?" By Joseph Parish. In today’s culture typically both parents are obligated to have a full time job. As such it’s imperative to understand the value of a disaster plan. Granted, we may have our own personal disaster plans in place but what about those daycare or child care centers where we drop of our children each day. Do they have an accepted plan set up in the event of an emergency situation? Click here

How Much Water is enough

September 15, 2010 - "How Much Water is enough" By Joseph Parish. We frequently underestimate the proper quantities of water that we require in order to sustain life while bugging out. Granted, we can establish a specific limit on the number of gallons of water each person needs daily, but try and put yourself in an actual situation and see how well you fair. Click here

Getty-up and go with Pets in Tow

September 14, 2010 - "Getty-up and go with Pets in Tow" By Joseph Parish. Most people overlook their pets when developing their emergency evacuation strategy that is so vital during times of crisis. Then we have those who support what they consider a more practical approach and when the time arrives to depart they do just that – they leave while their loving pets get to fend for themselves. It doesn’t matter if the calamity is a wild fire, flood or hurricane the animals are habitually the last item pondered. Click here
